Creating a quality product image with a white product is simple and will only take a few minutes. This video will cover just how you can do that.
Removing Your Image’s Background the Lazy Man’s Way
As an example, I took a random product image off the internet and used that. In the video, I go over the way you can select your product image’s background all at once. Once you’ve selected everything you can proceed to fill in your background with the correct colour (#FFFFFF). This only works for images that have mostly one solid color.
Using the Magic Wand
The Magic Wand tool will select most of the background you want out of your image so you can replace it with the colour that you need. All you have to do is click on the background and the program will try select every part of the background to the best of its ability.
The Quick Selection Tool
This is similar to the Magic Wand tool but it does it section by section. This allows for more specific selections than the Magic Wand tool can offer.
The Polygonal Lasso Tool
This can allow you to trace your entire product so when you complete it you can just inverse the selection you made then remove the background. Personally, I like to just wrap around the background and do it in stages so it’ll be easier for me to go back in case I do something wrong.
Brightness and Contrast
Depending on your image, you can just mess with the sliders for brightness and contrast to end up with a white background. Playing around with brightness and contrast will also give sharpness to your image and make it stand out more.
